About Us

The Local 168 JATC operates Registered Apprenticeship Programs for three occupations: Plumber, Pipefitter, and HVACR Technician. Each are five year programs comprised of a combination of paid on-the-job training and free related instruction class/lab work. All three programs require apprentices to work 1700 hours per year to advance to the next level and attend 246 hours of related instruction classes. Apprentices are assigned employment by the JATC via the Local 168 referral system.

Apprentices are paid wages by our signatory contractors the amounts specified in our program standards and the collective bargaining agreement. The first year of the program is a probationary period with full fringe benefits after the first year is completed. Pay advancements are every six months based on satisfactory evaluations.
